About Gary Vincent

Gary Vincent is the author of Finding Vincent: My Journey of Adoption, Discovery and Reunion, a deeply personal memoir about identity, family, and the lifelong search to understand where we come from.

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Gary was adopted as an infant and spent decades wondering about the story that began before he knew his own. In 1992, he began searching for answers, but with adoption records sealed, the journey would take many years. In 2018, with the help of his daughter Sarah and the power of DNA and persistence, Gary finally uncovered the truth of his birth family and experienced the emotional reunion he had hoped for his entire life.

Before becoming an author, Gary spent a career in law enforcement, where he learned the importance of preserving evidence, following leads, and seeking the truth—skills that would become essential in his own search for identity.

Finding Vincent is more than a story about adoption. It is a story about resilience, discovery, forgiveness, and the connections that define us. Through his journey, Gary hopes to inspire others searching for answers and remind readers that every life has a story waiting to be found.

Gary lives in Illinois with his wife, Terri, and their beloved dog, Bailey Rose.
